Arrests in Sirnak
Two members of BDP (Peace and Democracy Party were taken under detention in Balveren (Þýrnak) and three Democratic Patriotic Youth Organization (DYG) members in Erciþ (province of Van).
In Belveren town of Sirnak, gendarmerie raided the houses of BDP members Metin Uysal and Gülþen Bayram in morning hours. Uysal and Bayram, whose houses were searched also, were reported to be taken to 23. Gendarme Border Division Command. While the reason of Uysal and Bayram’s detentions are still not known, their families expressed that the gendarme officers that organized the house raid had Bayram and Uysal’s photographs with them taken at the “Honey Festival”.
And a raid was organized by police in Erciþ province of Van. Democratic Patriotic Youth (DYG) members Adem Yýldýz, Kutbettin Saltan and a youngster whose name wasn’t reported were detained during the raid. The detained young members were taken to County Police Department and then sent to Van, while the reason of the detentions didn’t get to know.
