Aggravated life sentence sought for HDP Co-chair Figen Yüksekdağ

Aggravated life sentence is sought for HDP Co-chair Yüksekdağ who is being held as hostage at Kandıra Type F Prison for the speeches she had made during events.

Heavy life sentence and 7,5 year in prison has been asked for HDP Co-chair and Van parliamentarian Figen Yüksekdağ who is being held as hostage at Kandıra F Type Prison, for the speeches she had made, accused of ‘disrupting the unity of the state’ and ‘spreading terrorist propaganda'.

Van Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has completed the investigation into the speeches HDP Co-president Yüksekdağ had made on April 11, 2015, December 30, 2015, and March 5, 2016. Van 2nd Heavy Penal Court accepted the indictment and decided to seek aggravated life sentence and 7.5 years in jail for Yüksekdağ for ‘disrupting the unit of the state’ and ‘spreading terrorist propaganda'.

It came out that the investigation was launched after a complaint to Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
