Activists in London and Gävleborg pay tribute to HPG Command Council member Sinan Dersim

HPG Command Council member Sinan Dersim (Dalokay Şanlı), who fell a martyr as a result of an air attack launched by the invading Turkish state against the Medya Defense Areas on 27 October 2020 was commemorated in London and Gävleborg.

A commemoration event was held at the Kurdish Community Center for HPG Command Council member Sinan Dersim, who fell a martyr on 27 October 2020, as a result of an air attack launched by the Turkish army on Medya Defense Areas. The memorial was organised by the Kurdish People's Assembly Martyr Families Commission in London.

Members of the United Revolutionary Movement of Peoples (HBDH), the Kurdish People's Assembly and families of martyrs attended the memorial.

Speakers from the HDBH underlined that Sinan Dersim has been a leading commander in the Turkey and Kurdistan revolution.

British Kurdish People's Assembly co-chair, Ercan Akbal, also touched upon Sinan Dersim's political work in Europe and said: “By putting forward a revolutionary stance against capitalist modernity, he has been an expression of our strict commitment to the struggle. His memories will be our guide and will be our flag of struggle.”

Ali Boyraz made a speech on behalf of the Kurdish People's Assembly Martyr Families Commission and underlined that Sinan Dersim has become a soldier of the revolutionary struggle of the peoples with his revolutionary stance and life in the Kurdish freedom struggle.

GAVLEBORG

Martyr Sinan Dersim was also commemorated in Gävleborg, Sweden.

Speaking at the commemoration, Senanik Öner, said that martyrdom has a separate and special importance for the Kurdish and Kurdistan struggle, because the struggle grew with martyrs and that the Kurdish people always showed their loyalty to martyrs.

Önen said: "The Kurdish people will not forget Martyr Sinan Dersim and they will fulfil his aspirations."

Speaking on behalf of the Martyrs' Families Committee, Wecdin Batte said: "Our martyrs put everything aside and sacrifice their lives for the Kurdish people, this reality must be understood by all Kurds."

Xaçik Kasber reminded that "while the USA recognized the Armenian Genocide, the Turkish Republic attacked the guerrillas in South Kurdistan.”
