Activists in Bologna organize action for Öcalan

Municipi Sociali Làbas and TPO organized an action in solidarity with Öcalan and the Kurdish struggle.

Activists from Municipi Sociali Làbas and TPO social centre in Bologna organized an action in solidarity with Öcalan and the Kurdish struggle.

In a statement the activists wrote: "In Bologna during the summer, several people and tourists attend a public and free cinema set in Piazza Maggiore, the main square of the city, right in front of San Petronio's Basilica.

Before the show of the film, MS Làbas and TPO used a laser to project on the cinema's screen and on the facade of the Basilica the phrases "FREE KURDISTAN" and "FREE APO". The phrases were followed by applause from the audience. Then, other projections followed, regarding the Palestinian struggle, the right to abortion, and our opposition to the far-right Italian government of President Giorgia Meloni, with the sentence 'Meloni you don't represent us'".

This action was done after the activists held a public conference about the next G7 meeting in Bologna on the topic of technology that will take place on the 9-11 of July.
