The Freedom for Öcalan Vigil has been continuing for 12 years in Strasbourg, to demand freedom for Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan]. The vigil has entered its 644th week.
The vigil is taken over by Kurdish patriots from different regions every week, and on Monday it was taken over by three patriots from Lucerne.
The group is made up of Fikret Çoktaşan, Koçer Aydın and Sinan Ahmed.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Fikret Çoktaşan conveyed his greetings to "the guerrillas resisting in the mountains, the prisoners and the resisting Kurdish people, starting with Leader Apo."
Çoktaşan said: "We want the Council of Europe and the CPT (European Committee for the Prevention of Torture) to fulfill their responsibilities. International states and the Turkish state want to isolate and destroy the Kurdish people in the person of our Leader. We vowed to continue to fight until our Leader, the Kurdish people and all oppressed peoples are free."
