Abadi: No coordination with Turkey against PKK

Haidar Al-Abadi urged Turkey to respect the sovereignty of Iraq.

Following a meeting of the Council of Ministers in Iraq on Wednesday, Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi spoke to the press to answer questions. Asked about the Turkish occupation operation in Southern Kurdistan, Abadi said: "There is no coordination between us and Turkey for a cross-border operation."

Abadi urged Turkey to respect the sovereignty of Iraq: "We are bound by the Iraqi constitution. We will not tolerate any military activity within Iraq. This is especially true for the PKK, which is a non-Iraqi organization. At the same time, we expect Turkey to respect the sovereignty of Iraq."
