34 ISIS members killed as heavy clashes continue in Raqqa

34 members of ISIS gangs have been killed amid ongoing clashes across Raqqa city.

YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue their operation to liberate Raqqa for the 32nd day. Heavy clashes are taking place between SDF and ISIS gangs in several locations across the city around which SDF has laid a siege.

In Old Raqqa, clashes that erupted Friday evening continue still. ISIS gangs are launching major attacks in an effort to hold the strategic neighborhood. According to information obtained from military sources, ISIS gangs are using mortar shells containing chemical substance.

As fighting in the neighborhood continues, a bomb-laden vehicle of the gangs was destroyed before it reached the target. Two ISIS members were killed before conducting suicide attacks against SDF forces.

15 ISIS members were killed during the fighting in Old Raqqa and bodies of 10, in addition to 2 Kalashnikov rifles and a LAW weapon, were seized by SDF. Three SDF fighters got injured during clashes.

 

In western Raqqa, heavy clashes are ongoing in al-Dariya neighborhood since Friday evening. 7 ISIS members were killed and 2 SDF fighters got slightly injured during clashes. SDF fighters seized 6 Kalashnikov rifles and one B7 and destroyed a bomb-laden vehicle before it reached the target.

The village of Sifen southeast of Raqqa has also witnessed fierce clashes, during which 10 ISIS members were killed.

Fighting between SDF and ISIS continues in the mentioned areas.
