YPG Press Center reported that persistent military operations conducted by combined forces of the People’s Defense Units (YPG) and the Women’s Defense Units (YPJ) continue to confront the ISIS gangs attempting occupation efforts near the city of Hesekê, Rojava.
Remarking that YPG/YPJ forces last night conducted an operation in the ISIS-occupied areas in south Hesekê, the statement said a hamlet was liberated and the links of the gang groups in this area with Raqqa and Sheddat were cut as a result of the operation in Pira Spî hamlet 4 km to the south of Hesekê.
YPG said at least 23 gang members were killed in clashes in the mentioned area, while YPG/YPJ forces also seized the corpses of 17 gang members in addition to a large amount of ammunition and some vehicles from the gang groups.
CLASH IN KOBANÊ
Also reporting about the ongoing operation of the YPG/YPJ forces in the south of Kobanê, the statement said fighting broke out in this area as Defense Units responded to a small group of gangs that attempted a fresh attack on Maxaretên village to the east of Sirîn town yesterday afternoon.
While the gang group was forced to flee this area after the clashes, the number of casualties on ISIS side could not be verified.
YPG stated that clashes between ISIS gang groups and YPG/YPJ forces also broke out in Kepinrepin village to the south of Kobanê, adding that two YPG/YPJ fighters lost their lives in the fighting.
11 GANG MEMBERS KILLED IN SİLÛK
YPG continued, by reporting that all the attacks launched by ISIS gangs yesterday morning on Şergirat village to the south of Silûk have been repelled, while 11 members of the gangs were killed in the clashes in this area.
YPG lastly reported that a gang member attempted to carry out a suicide attack in the area between Hol and Til Hemis yesterday, but was captured alive with the explosives he carried.
