28 parliamentarians in South Kurdistan have today submitted a petition to the president of the parliament to investigate the migration of youths to abroad.
Goran Movement deputy Evar İbrahim who spoke to ANF on the subject told that three thousand youths in South Kurdistan have illegally fled to abroad in the last one month, and demanded an ascertainment of solutions to hinder this problem at the parliament.
İbrahim remarked that the government was responsible for the flight of the youths.
'GOVERNMENT FAILS TO PROVIDE A FUTURE FOR THE YOUTHS'
Pointing out that the flight of youths to abroad took place in an illegal way, İbrahim made the following evaluation regarding the reasons for this flight; "For more than 20 years now, the government has failed to meet the needs of the youths in our region, to provide a future for them and to give the necessary service. Besides, the political and economic crisis in our region does also have an influence on this. Overwhelmed with these problems, and facing a deadlock and a lack of solution, the youths are resorting to flee to abroad, which is as a matter of fact a consequence of a pursuit. If you fail to answer the basic needs of the people, you will naturally cause them to change their course."
'THEY ARE RISKING DEATH'
Stressing that the leave for abroad was an explicit flight conducted over illegal and very dangerous ways, İbrahim said; "Most of them are risking death while fleeing to abroad. We are not arguing that nobody should go abroad or prefer where they want to live, but this is not a normal leave. There must be a solution found for this problem. The regional government needs to adopt an attitude and undertake responsibility to avoid such flights over dangerous ways. The problems of the youths must be ascertained correctly and ensured a solution."
'CAUSES AND SOLUTIONS SHOULD BE SEARCHED OUT'
Noting that the parliament should treat this problem at a special session, İbrahim said they have filed a petition signed by 28 parliamentarians to the president of the parliament today. She added that the signatories included parliamentarians from the Goran Movement, HızbiŞui (Communist Party of Kurdistan), PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan), Yekgırtu İslam, Komala İslam and Turkmens.
