Women in Urfa participated in the Freedom March promoted to demand freedom for Abdullah Öcalan.

The “Democratic Solution and Freedom March” from Amed to Ankara, kicked off on Tuesday. The march is organized by the Democratic Institutions Platform, and on its second day took place in Urfa (Riha).

Women who participated in the Freedom March spoke to the ANF.

Besra Delice: We want peace, we want a life together. We want all of humanity to support each other. Because our youth, who are our future, are under oppression. Most of our young people are forced to flee from here due to oppression. We do not want this to happen. This march is a march for freedom. We want everyone to join and support this march.

Our leader must be released

Islim Demir: We want the isolation in Imrali to be lifted and the necessary steps to be taken for peace. We want this oppression to end now. We want our prisoners to be released. This ongoing oppression of the Kurds must end now. The address for peace is Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan]. Therefore, we want our leader to be released. The state must now take steps for peace as soon as possible.

Zehra Mutlu: We are in the streets demanding peace. We want the war to end now. We want our leader to be free as soon as possible. We must now sit at the table and produce a solution. We want all our people to join this march. Everyone must do their part for peace.

Süreyya Şaşmaz: I joined the Freedom March for peace and justice. My only demand is peace. We will continue to struggle to ensure peace.
