Two more DBP municipalities in Urfa seized by the government

DBP-held Viranşehir and Bozova district municipalities in Urfa have been seized by the government and trustees have been appointed to both municipalities.

Viranşehir district governor Ömer Cimşit has replaced the co-mayor Emrullah Cin who was jailed on January 5, charged with “membership to a terrorist organization” after 23 days in custody.

Similarly, Bozova district governor Zekeriya Göker has been appointed in place of co-mayors Zeynel Taş and Fatma Doğan.

Both trustees have come to the municipalities and taken office in the early morning hours today amid an intensified presence of police forces and armored vehicles around the municipality buildings.
