It came out that Turkish soldiers shot dead a Kobanê resident by the name of Remedan Fariq in the village of Siftek near the border, 10 km to the west of Kobanê, two days ago.
According to a report by ANHA news agency, the body of the man was found by the villagers only yesterday evening after remaining unnoticed at the scene for two days.
Asayish (public security) forces whom the villagers informed about the incident came to the scene for examination, after which they took the man to hospital and informed his family about the death. 58-year-old Remedan Fariq, father of five, was from the village of Girdê in south Kobanê.
Welat Şêxo, a resident of Siftek village, stated that Fariq was shot dead by soldiers as he attempted to cross the border into Northern Kurdistan, the Kurdish region in Turkey, to earn a living for his family. Şêxo said Fariq had visited them before crossing the border, after which they didn't hear about him until his body was found by villagers late yesterday evening.
Remedan Fariq whose body has been handed over to the family will reportedly be laid to rest today.
