In the course of Turkey's cross-border military operation in Southern Kurdistan (Northern Iraq), intensive troop movements are taking place in the province of Hakkari. According to the MA news agency, eleven bodies of Turkish soldiers have been brought to the state hospital in Yüksekova district in the past two days. Military transports are observed in the border area, and fighting is taking place on both sides of the border.

At the same time, attempts are being made to depopulate villages on the Turkish side of the border. According to reports, all young men have had to leave the village of Marinos, and shepherds are also said to have been expelled. Only a few old people remain in the village, and the sheep have been left to fend for themselves. Villagers have apparently also been forbidden to bring out their sheep. Access to the village is blocked, and the region has been declared a restricted military area.

Meanwhile, a Turkish army field hospital has been set up in the village of Ertuş in Çukurca district. Soldiers injured in fighting are also being transported by helicopter to hospitals in Hakkari. Separate hospital departments have been set up in the districts of Çukurca and Yüksekova.
