Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM) has released a statement criticizing the Aleppo Regional Assembly of Syrian opposition forces for its unfavorable treatment of local people in Sheik Maksoud neighborhood, its efforts to defame YPG and support to the ISIS gangs.
TEV-DEM pointed out that the ISIS gangs and their supporters both inside and outside have been put into trouble after the heavy blows and defeat inflicted on ISIS by YPG/YPJ, Sutoro, FSA and Al-Senadîd forces in the most recent offensive. It noted that the circles aiding ISIS launched a smear campaign against the YPG with false charges soon after this offensive.
Remarking that the liberation of Hesêke and Raqqa countrysides from ISIS has gladdened all the Syrian peoples, TEV-DEM stressed that they expected those purporting revolution in Syria to side with the achievements over ISIS rather than supporting the ISIS gangs. It noted that these circles, however, considered ISIS defeat as their own defeat, as is also proved by their statements and remarks that stand by ISIS-perpetrated massacres through press and media.
TEV-DEM continued, by recalling that all their works were based on fraternity and together-living of all peoples in Syria and defended the territorial integrity of Syria on the basis of a democratic and free country.
"As TEV-DEM, we will continue resisting to the agents whose aim is the division of Syrian lands. Just like its occupation of Alexandretta in the past, the Turkish state today aims to occupy some regions of Syria by means of these circles under the name of "creating buffer zone", the statement underlined.
Strongly condemning the statements on TV of Aleppo Regional Assembly's some members that insult and attack the Kurdish people in the person of YPG, TEV-DEM said these remarks were aimed to defame the struggle waged by the Kurdish people in Syria, and proved themselves to be a part of Erdoğan's project for division of Syrian lands.
TEV-DEM ended its statement by announcing that; "We are suspending the agreement signed between TEV-DEM and Aleppo Regional Assembly of Syrian opposition on 14 September 2014 due to the failure of the Assembly to fulfill the articles of agreement for social service”.
