Surroundings of cemetery shelled before funeral of HPG commanders

State forces are shelling the surroundings of “Martyr Hêvîdar and Martyr Amed Cemetery” in Lice short before the beginning of the funeral ceremony for HPG commanders Azad Siser and Çekdar Amed.

State forces are shelling the surroundings of “Martyr Hêvîdar and Martyr Amed Cemetery” in Lice short before the beginning of the funeral ceremony for HPG commanders Ekrem Güney (Azad Siser) and Ahmet Tavla (Çekdar Amed) who lost their lives on May 2 and were to be buried today.

Thousands of people have been gathering at the “Martyr Hêvîdar and Martyr Amed Cemetery” in Amed's Lice district to attend the funeral of the two HPG commanders who lost their lives as a result of Turkish air strikes in the countryside of Lice on May 2. Both had been fighting in the ranks of the Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) since the early 1990s.

Turkish forces in YİBO Military Barracks in Lice town center have started to shell the surroundings of the cemetery. Shell fragments reached the graveyard where the funeral will take place as thousand of people wait for the ceremony which is expected to take place in the coming hours.
