The neighborhoods of Xaçort and Şehit Fırat in Van witnessed heavy clashes last night as Turkish state forces staged a crackdown on civilians, to which locals responded.

Dozens of people were injured in the attack as security forces broke the doors of houses and detained a number of people.

Locals said police randomly rained bullets on houses in the neighborhoods.

HDP Van deputy Lezgin Botan went to the scene to gather information from the neighborhood residents about the crackdown by Turkish forces.
