PUK's Talabani responds to AKP’s letter for support

It has come to light that the Turkish government sent a letter to PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan) administration and asked for support.

Iraqi parliament PUK group chair Ala Talabani said Turkey requested that PUK stand with the Turkish state in its war against the Kurdish people in Northern Kurdistan.

Ala Talabani issued a statement on her Facebook account, saying; “The government of Turkey has sent a letter to the PUK administration to request that PUK not support our Kurdish brothers and sisters in Northern Kurdistan. The Turkish state has also asked us to stand with the Turkey front against our brothers and sisters in the North.”

Talabani called to PUK administration and their supporter, and said “My wish from PUK administration and their supporters is that they refuse the Turkish state’s pressure and coercion and strongly deny these requests. Because the PUK's fundamental strategy is to support Kurdish people wherever they are.”

Iraqi parliament PUK group chair Ala Talabani ended the declaration with “The activities of Kurdish parties in Northern Kurdistan, especially those of PKK, should be supported.”
