Police raid houses, point a gun at children in Amed

The number of people detained in Amed (Diyarbakir) rose to 12. Turkish police raided houses, pointed guns at children.

Arrest warrants have been issued for 19 people within the scope of the political genocide operations in Amed. During the raids on 25 houses in Amed and 1 house in Kulp district, 12 people were detained, 7 people could not be detained because they were not in their residences.

Among those detained during house raids are Sur Municipality former co-mayors Cemal Özdemir and Sevgül Tekin who were discharged from office and Osman Balta, Cevat İnan, Hayrettin Karayılan, Erdal Bayram and Hacı Karakuzu.

Police broke the door and pointed a gun at children

It is reported that the police units that raided the house belonging to Hacı Karakuzu (45), who lives in Körhat neighborhood in Bağlar district, broke the door to get in. Policemen laid his wife face down and pointed gun at the children in the house. Karakuzu was detaiined and taken to the Diyarbakır Security Directorate.
