Special operation police teams attacked the neighborhoods of Esentepe and Esenyurt in Yüksekova district of Hakkari last night.

Police teams opened random fire in the neighborhoods and blew up a barricade built by locals for self-defense. While a number of houses were targeted by bullets, District Directorate of Rural Services was burnt out.

A youth by the name of Ali Kaval lost his life as police opened random fire from armored vehicles in the neighborhoods.

Kaval was hit by two bullets in the leg and one bullet in the head, which left him heavily wounded. Rushed to Yüksekova State Hospital and taken under treatment here, the youth couldn't survive despite all the medical efforts.

Kaval's body was taken to Hakkari for postmortem.
