PKK claimed responsibility for oil pipeline sabotage

The Kurdish People’s Defence Forces (HPG) claimed the responsibility for the pipeline explosion took place in Midyat district of Mardin the other day. HPG also stated that those two persons who claimed to have burnt to death by the Turkish media have died in a traffic accident and it is a clear manipulation by the Turkish press.

Meanwhile, HPG denied the allegations that the Kurdish guerrillas targeted the civilians and said they had taken all the necessary precautions and stopped the traffic on the road in order to prevent any civilian causality. HPG also reported that the guerrillas who carried out the attack were present at the explosion and no civilians lost their lives due to explosion.

Regarding the attack on the petrol pipeline HPG also stated that the attack was carried out on 10 August at around 19:00 between Midyat district of Mardin and Idil district of Sirnak provinces.

HPG further more stated that the attack took place on 10 August at around 16:30 on the Midyat-Idil highway was carried out against a car carrying a number of gendarmerie collaborators who left the Kivaxe gendarmerie station shortly before the explosion. HPG also said it was a warning attack for those who are collaborating with the Turkish security forces.
