PJAK releases Newroz message

Newroz is directly related to the existence and freedom of the Kurdish people, said PJAK and called for strong participation in the events marking the day of resistance.

The Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) published a written statement on the occasion of the 21 March Newroz Festival.

In its statement, PJAK said, "We wish our people a joyful Newroz of resistance, freedom and democracy throughout the country, particularly in Eastern Kurdistan. Over the years, Newroz has been the rebirth and brightness of our people's freedom struggle. With its slogan of freedom and democracy for the Kurdish people, this sacred movement has today reached the pinnacle of global public perception.”

The statement continued as follows:

“At Newroz, our people in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran will leave another year of resistance behind and demand their rights and raise their voices.

With all of its sacred symbols, our people's Newroz has grown into the largest social struggle movement all around Kurdistan and the Middle East. All sections of our people celebrate Newroz in order to acquire their rights, freedom, and democracy that they seek.

Because of our people's unique geographical location in Eastern Kurdistan and Iran, Newroz has become a symbol of freedom and a spark in the people's resistance against cruel massacres. Therefore, rather than being an ordinary holiday, Newroz is directly related to the existence and freedom of the Kurdish people.

Once again, we celebrate our people's Newroz. We believe that our people will flock to the Newroz fields, and will be the guarantee of Leader Öcalan's freedom."
