HPG Press centre revealed details of the invading Turkish army in Amed and action by the guerrillas in Hakkari.

The HPG Press Centre has released a statement detailing the operation launched by the Turkish army in the area of Amed, as well as an action carried out by guerrillas in Hakkari.

The statement reads as follows:

On September 2, the invading Turkish army launched an operation around the Helhelê village in Amed’s Hazro district. On September 3, around 04.00 hours, the Cobra-type attack helicopters of the invaders heavily bombed the area.

Our forces have targeted the Cobra helicopters carrying out the bombardment, and the helicopters were forced to retreat from the area after being put under intense fire.

Following the bombardments, the invading forces carried out setdowns with Sikorsky helicopters, and heavy conflicts between our forces and invading soldiers have taken place. The number of dead and wounded soldiers in these conflicts where many enemy soldiers were killed could not be determined.

Our comrade Haki, who fought against invaders heroically during the conflicts, fell a martyr during the bombardments while our comrade Kendal detonated his bomb on himself after fighting until his very last bullet, falling martyr.

Within the scope of the Martyr Pîroz and Martyr Agirî Revolutionary Campaign, on September 8, at 10.00, our forces carried out an action against the invading Turkish army in Hakkari’s Çelê (Çukurca) district.

Two positions and one enemy shelter was destroyed in this effective action where the enemy’s locations were hit on four arms, and four soldiers were identified killed.

Following the action, the invading Turkish army bombed the area with howitzer and mortar shells.
