Kurdish guerrillas launched an overnight attack of a military outpost in Gercus district of Batman which left at least one soldier dead and 3 soldiers injured.

It is reported that at 8:50 last night PKK guerrillas attacked special forces patrolling around Vergili Gendarmerie Station in Gercus. The province governor office confirmed that a Turkish soldier was killed and 3 others were injured including one lieutenant. The local sources however stated that the number of dead soldiers is higher.

The PKK has not made a statement regarding the attack yet.
