Kurdish guerrillas of PKK laid an overnight ambush on security directorate and some military bases in Eruh district of Siirt which left at least one special force police dead and three others injured, reported Turkish officials. Local sources last night said that the number of the casualties might increase.

It is reported that PKK fighters attacked security directorate and some military bases in Eruh at 22:10 on Monday, 2 August. Due to power cut following the guerrillas’ attack in which the targets were hit with rockets and long barreled weapons the city was not given electricity and phone lines stopped working.
