According to local sources arrests of local Kurdish activists are continuing in Sine, East Kurdistan. Several Kurdish activists, including Kurdish student Hebibullah Letifi's family, were arrested by the Iranian authorities in the city of Sine.

The Kurdish student was going to be executed on 26 December, but his execution was temporarily suspended. What did continue though were the arrests of Kurdish activists. At least 20 people along side 8 members of Kurdish student’s family, (his parents, three brothers and three sisters) were arrested and taken to unknown location by the security forces. According to some reports three more people have been arrested. There is no news on the whereabouts of the detainees.
