Military activity and blockade continue in rural Lice

The military mobilisation of the Turkish state in the countryside of Lice district in Amed continues.

On 15 September evening, the Turkish army launched an operation in the rural neighbourhood of Peçar in Lice district of Amed (Diyarbakır). A large number of soldiers and village guards are reported to be taking part in the operation.

Fighter jets and helicopters bombarded the areas of Lis, Çemê Sarume, Zikte and ‘Martyr Remzi’ as part of the operation launched 2 days ago.

While the blockade in the rural neighbourhood was partially lifted, military activity in the region reportedly continues.

The Minister of Interior, Ali Yerlikaya, stated on his social media account that 2 HPG (People’s Defense Forces) members lost their lives in the operation.
