KDP helps Turkish forces destroying trees for the construction of a military base

South Kurdistan’s ruling party KDP continues its collaboration with the Turkish state that has accelerated its genocidal campaign in northern Iraq.

The Turkish state is constructing a new military base near the village of Hirure in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), RojNews agency reported on Sunday.

The path leading to the military base, just one kilometer away from Hirure village, leads through a wooded area. The base is located in close proximity to the border guards affiliated to the KDP.

Local sources report that Turkish forces are cutting down trees in collaboration with the KDP in the area where the base is being constructed.

A source asking to be mentioned anonymously for security reasons stated that the base was being built with assistance from Dilêr Ferzende Zebari, Commander of the 1st Brigade of the KDP’s Border Guard Units.

According to the same source, Turkish forces have so far cut down thousands of trees with Dilêr Ferzende Zebari’s assistance, and transported them to Şırnak province in Turkey.
