HPG Kirkuk-Maxmur Command reported in a written statement that ISIS gangs launched an attack on the villages of Mırê and Şehîdan in Tılwerde district of Kirkuk at 00.00 of 5-6 July night.

HPG Command said that against this attack after which ISIS groups took control of the Mırê village, guerrilla and peshmerga forces launched a joint operation at 05.00 in the morning, and reseized the village.

The gang groups in and around the village were all repelled as a result of this joint offensive, the statement said, adding that 5 members of the gangs were verified killed, while the number of ISIS casualties was reported to be around 20.

Guerrillas also seized munitions of the gang groups, HPG statement added.
