Iranian army fires mortar shell on Southern Kurdistan

Iranian state forces continues its mortar shell attack on the villages at the border of Kurdistan Region of Northern Iraq. Due to artillery attacks by the Iranian army on Southern Kurdistan which took place last week left hundreds of Kurdish villages homeless, say local sources.

It is reported that almost 800 Kurdish families took refuge in Dolapehida district of Singeseri town which was established following the attacks and the displaced villagers in the camp are angry due to reluctance and apathy of the local government. On the other had Kandil municipality is trying to supply the displaced with the basic needs.

While a guerrilla doctor who is originally German examined the inhabitants of the camp, the vice mayor of Kandil Osman Mam Xidir also visited the camp. The vice mayor said ANF that “The villagers are living under unsuitable conditions as they established the camp themselves. We are trying to provide them with assistance but they are all far from being sufficient.”

Doctor Medya also stated that a group of doctors from PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan), led by current president of Iraq, Jalal Talabani, also visited that camp but left without doing anything. She further stated that they asked for medical support however, they could not receive any positive respond.
