People's Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office has released a statement providing information about the ongoing bombardments and reconnaissance flights by Turkish military against PKK-held Medya Defense Zones in South Kurdistan territory.
HPG stated that Turkish troops at Oremar guard post in Hakkari's Yüksekova district shelled the Martyr Gafur area near the border of Avashin region between 13.30-14.30 on August 24.
Troops at Aruş guard post near the border of Metina area shelled Martyr Agır and Hill Kuro Şino areas between 18.30-19.00 and 22.00-00.00 on August 24, and between 03.00 – 04.30 on August 25.
Another bombardment from Eriş guard post near the border of Zap region targeted the Xeregol area between 12.30 – 18.00 on August 24.
AERIAL ACTIVITIES
HPG also reported an ongoing aerial activity by Turkish military over guerrilla areas. Accordingly, reconnaissance flights by Turkish military were carried out over the Gare area between 16.30 – 19.30 on August 24, and Zap area between 12.30 - 15.00 and 19.00 - 00.00 the same day.
An activity of Turkish jets also took place over the Zap region between 21.00 – 21.30 on August 24.
