People’s Defence Forces HPG made a statement concerning the pipeline sabotage of 1 August following which 4 civilians lost their life in a land mine explosion. HPG said: “Our unit which took part in this provocative attack is currently under investigation.” HPG also stated that they are decisive to enlighten the incident.
HPG headquarters further stated that the persons who lost their lives in the explosion were patriot Kurds who put great efforts in the Kurdish national movement and it is out of question to target them deliberately.
Reminding the anti-land mine protocol which HPG signed the statement said it is a provocative attack. It is also stated that due to obligations under this protocol Kurdish guerrillas are forbidden to use land mines.
HPG finally said the result of the investigation will also come to public.
