HPG: Military activities increased to critical level

HPG said the military activity particularly intensified in the last days at the border of Şırnak and around Haftanin area of Medya Defence Zones.

HPG reported the military activities carried out by the Turkish forces on 20 and 21 April.

On 20 April, at 19:00-20:00, the Turkish soldiers launched bombardment by opening mortar fires around Yekmal village of Roboski, while carrying out flights at the same hours over Boxaza Sener area of Derare, said the statement.

HPG stated that drone activities took place between 20 April at 18:00 and 21 April at 05:30 over Metina area of Medya Defence Zones, on 20 April at between 13:00-14:00 over Martyr Rüstem area of zap region, on 21 April at 03:00-04:00 over Martyr Brusk area of Amed.

HPG said that the Turkish army deployed forces on 2 more hills in Martyr Kendal area at the Heftanin border line, adding that the Turkish army has now emplaced on 5 hills and tries to re-occupy Çete Hill, which is not distanced away from the guerrilla controlled areas. HPG said these attempts and activities of the Turkish military forces have reached to a level of triggering conflict.

HPG further reported helicopter flights took place on 20 April in the evening hours between Maymun and Çete military posts, adding that the Turkish soldiers launched bombardments on 21 April in the morning hours on Tepe Kelik area from Cete military post and at 12:30-13:30 over Martyr Kendal area from Maymun and Çete military posts.

Another military activity took place on 19 April at 05:00-06:00 between martyr Şiyar and Martyr Zınar Hills at the Avasin border line, said the HPG.

The statement of the HPG further remarked that the Turkish military forces set up ambushes on the road between Kilka Rizak and Gundike Mele villages of Şırnak starting from the early morning hours on 20 April till 21 April noon. On 20 April, at 19:30-21:00, reconnaissance flights carried out by the Turkish military forces over Ciyaye Fila area of Besta region of Şırnak, added the HPG.

HPG lastly reported that the Turkish military forces continue to transfer construction material to the dam area in Farqin district of Amed, despite the warnings of the HPG.
