Family members received the body from the Gazi Yaşargil Training and Research Hospital morgue and arranged a ceremony in the Yeniköy Cemetery where he is to be buried.

MOSQUE SURROUNDED

But before the funeral prayer to be held in the mosque, hundreds of police officers and several armored vehicles and water cannons surrounded the cemetery.

A group of officials from Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) including MPs Musa Farisoğulları, Selçuk Mızraklı and Remziye Tosun arrived at the cemetery to attend the funeral but were surrounded by the police, and not allowed inside.

The body was taken from the mosque from not where the MPs stood with the police surrounding them, but from another gate. The funeral was held in a small ceremony that the police only allowed the family members to attend.
