Forest fire in Dersim countryside continues

The fire started by Turkish bombardment in Kutudere region of Dersim, continues.

Aerial attacks by the Turkish army started a fire in Roj Stream area in Kutudere region of Dersim two days ago.

Most of the villages in the fire area were evacuated by the state during the 90’s and some others are included in the “special security zone” currently in effect. No information can be obtained about the fires in the region of evacuated villages as the area is completely depopulated.

Environmentalists in Dersim called the Forestry Operation Directorate to demand urgent intervention in the fires.

Environmentalist Haydar Çetinkaya voiced his reaction on social media as follows; “What does the Forestry Operation Directorate exist for? We call them but no answer. The fires have not been intervened for nearly 48 hours now. May you get no benefit from the taxes you get from our country. There is a discriminatory approach in question. Is this not a city of the country?”
