DTK announced its participation in Gemlik March, and stated that Öcalan’s freedom could end war and chaos.
DTK (Democratic Society Congress) Presidency Council issued a statement announcing its participation in the march for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s freedom which will take place from Amed to Gemlik district of Bursa, two miles off the coast of Imrali Island where Öcalan is jailed, on August 1st. The march led by Federation of Associations of Solidarity and Legal Aid for Families of Prisoners will be staged under the slogan "Hundreds of thousands marching for the freedom of the Leader".
DTK stated that the solution process implemented by chief negotiator and Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan has been replaced with the war AKP and Erdoğan lead on behalf of Turkish society without hesitation. DTK emphasized that the determination of co-governance became clear with the results of June 7 elections.
Remarking that discontent at election results, AKP and Erdoğan brought chaos to the country and were planning to make gains out of this chaos, DTK pointed out that AKP declared war against Turkey’s peoples’ demand for co-existence within the framework of democratic nation before a government is formed in the country, and was giving morale to ISIS by bombing, fighting and arresting Kurds who are the only force causing setbacks for ISIS. DTK reiterated that Öcalan’s freedom could end war and chaos in Turkey.
'WE WILL ATTEND THE HONORABLE MARCH'
DTK Presidency Council announced that all DTK constituents and the people of Amed would participate in TUHAD-FED’s honorable march for Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan organized around the motto of ‘As hundreds of thousands of people, we march for Leader Apo’s freedom.’
No meetings have been held since April 5 with the Kurdish leader who is being held under aggravated isolation in İmralı island prison since his capture as a result of an international conspiracy in 1999.
After a series of campaigns and events demanding freedom for Öcalan during recent years, the Kurdish people are now preparing to voice an answer to the warfare recently initiated against them by the Turkish state.
