HPG Press Office has reported that HPG and YJA Star guerrillas carried out actions in an extensive area in North Kurdistan in response to the ongoing attacks by Turkish security forces.
Four special sergeants were wounded as guerrillas targeted military lodges in Şırnak city centre with heavy weaponry at 23:00 on August 24.
Guerrillas conducted a sabotage action against a military convoy near Avka Masiya village on the road between Şırnak and its Cizre district at 03:00 on August 25. One armoured vehicle got damaged and tumbled down a hill, as a result of which five soldiers in the vehicle died, according to local sources.
Turkish troops launched an operation in the area after removing its casualties from the scene. 30 people from surrounding villages were detained after the operation was retreated inconclusively.
Guerrillas hit an armoured vehicle on move in Edremit district of Van at 23:30 on August 26, causing large number of casualties for the Turkish army.
SABOTAGE ACTIONS
A guerrilla unit carried out a sabotage actions against base stations of three GSM operators in Kelegerin village of Van's Gürpınar (Payizava) district at 23:00 on August 26, leaving the stations completely destroyed.
Another base station in Balveren (Gundıkê Mellê) village of Şırnak was also destroyed in a sabotage action carried out by YJA Star guerrillas between 21:00 and 22:00 on August 25.
ACTION AGAINST ŞIRNAK BRIGADE
Guerrillas infiltrated in a security hill of Şırnak Brigade at 16:00 on August 26, after which a clash erupted and lasted an hour.
While guerrillas effectively hit the emplacements here, Cobra type helicopters shelled the hill that was concurrently bombed by Turkish troops from the land at 01:30 at night. The casualties of the Turkish army could not be clarified.
Guerrillas completely destroyed two base stations of two GSM operators in Barman and Şatıh villages of Mardin's Stewrê (Savur) district at 23:50 on August 26.
'GUERRILLAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE BURNING OF CIVILIAN VEHICLES'
HPG said the Turkish military forces in Mardin's Nusaybin district and Şırnak's Silopi district have been setting civilian vehicles on fire for the last two days, and then spreading black propaganda through the pro-war Turkish media that put the blame on PKK members for the actions. HPG underlined that guerrillas had by no means any involvement in these incidents.
Guerrillas destroyed a network unit of a GSM operator in Karçani village in Mamxur hamlet of Şırnak's Beytüşşebap district at 20:30.
Guerrillas closed Silk Road between Batman and Farqin (Silvan) district of Amed at 20:00 on August 25. A vehicle which did not stop at the check point of the guerrillas was targeted and hit, which left three out of five policemen in the vehicle dead.
ID CHECK ON AMED, PASUR, FARQİN ROADS
Guerrillas closed the road between Pasur (Kulp) and Farqin (Silvan) districts of Amed at between 15:00-18:30 on August 25 and performed ID checks, during which they also informed people about the ongoing process.
ACTION BY YJA STAR GUERRILLAS IN KİĞI
YJA Star guerrillas targeted Turkish soldiers guarding the dam in Kiğı district of Bingöl at 22:00 on August 26 in memory of the martyr Ekin Van (Kevser Eltürk). Guerrillas hit from two directions the cafeteria, the container where the soldiers sleep, an A-4 emplacement, two emplacements where 12 soldiers were positioned and one Cobra type armoured vehicle, leaving all completely destroyed.
At least 15 soldiers were killed in the action, after which the Turkish army removed its casualties with 5 ambulances. Turkish troops also opened random fire in the surrounding area, causing a wild fire and leaving three workers wounded.
A general base station in Sorpiyan village of Dersim was targeted and completely destroyed in a sabotage action carried out by guerrillas at 05:00 on August 26.
On the road between Dersim and Erzincan, guerrillas stopped the car of a person working for Turkish soldiers at between 18:30 and 19:00 on August 26. Guerrillas burnt the supplies in the car and released the person after making him apologize before the people for what he did, and giving him a last warning.
ACTION AGAINST HILL ÇETE MILITARY POST
Guerrillas carried out an action with heavy weaponry against Hill Çete military post at Zagros region border line at 16:00 on August 26. The casualties of the Turkish army could not be clarified.
A counter group dressed in guerrilla uniforms has been damaging houses in Dızzê village in Gelîyê Zap area near Zap border for the past several days. HPG warned that the group was trying to trigger a conflict in the village and make people attack the guerrillas.
HPG lastly reported that Turkish troops attempted to ambush a guerrilla unit on move between Gerdiya hamlet and Bêsosın area of Hakkari's Şemzinan district in the evening hours of August 25. Following a short-lasting clash here, guerrillas retreated back to their emplacements.
