Co-mayor of Şırnak's Cizre district municipality, Leyla İmret, stated that police and soldiers have today killed five people who include two children. She said police completely blockaded the district where also there is a heavy presence of soldiers in armored vehicles.
İmret pointed out that there was no curfew imposed on the district, yet soldiers and police forces acted at an alarming degree that went beyond state of emergency. She reported that bullets fired by military and police forces left five people dead, including two children.
According to İmret, snipers positioned at many points in the district were shooting the civilians who went out, and a civilian, whose name is yet to be identified, was shot dead by snipers on Nusaybin Street.
Many other people have been reported wounded as a result of the attacks by Turkish forces that have also blockaded the Cizre State Hospital and are not allowing access to the wounded.
On the other hand, 17 people working for Mem û Zîn Cultural Centre on Hill Gira Evînê were battered and detained by police.
