Young people in Yüksekova (Gever) held protest actions for the Peace Mothers Adalet Safalı and Perşan Akçelik, who lost their lives in a traffic accident after their deposition in court.

The police attacked the youth with rubber bullets and tear gas bombs, closing the roads to traffic.

Clashes between the police and the youth continued until late on Friday night.

Towards the morning hours, the police toured the neighbourhood by playing the Mehter March from cars. Neighbourhood residents said that the police kept shouting from their cars, “Let's shoot them."
