Clashes between Turkish soldiers and HPG guerrillas have intensified in the region of Yaygınyurt (Zoravakır), Gölyüzü (Şexxuli), Barındı (Tapuya) and Birnê Reş villages in Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı.

LAND OPERATION STARTED, SPECIAL UNITS DISPATCHED

While the fire started by the bombardment from Sikorsky and Cobra type helicopters of the Turkish army continues, the military launched a land operation and dispatched special units in a number of armored vehicles to the area of the clashes. Fighting is reported to be intensifying.

In the meantime, executives of the HDP and DBP Doğubayazıt district organizations and local people have left for the area of clashes to act as human shields.
