Barzani justifies Turkish massacre in Southern Kurdistan

Barzani justified the invasion attacks of the Turkish state on Southern Kurdistan, defending that “there are reasons”.

Southern Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani held a press briefing after the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

Mentioning the demonstrations of workers in Southern Kurdistan ongoing for 4 days, Barzani said; “We see the workers’ demonstrations fair and legitimate. However, we do not approve the use of this situation by some political circles in line with their interests. Our government will never allow those who want to create conflict and chaos in Kurdistan.”

On the other hand, Barzani ignored the civilians massacred in Turkish state’s invasion attempts and aerial attacks against southern Kurdistan, arguing that these attacks have a reason.

He said: “We do not accept the lands of Iraqi Kurdistan being used to hit our neighbors and endangering their security. This goes for Turkey, Iran, Syria and other parties. We never want our lands to be used for a threat and chaos against these countries. We told this to the PKK several times. We told them that we do not accept them using these lands and carrying out actions in Turkey.”
