The Turkish army launched airstrikes on Medya Defense Zones in the night of August 25, while it on the other hand increased the intensity of bombardments from the military posts at the border line, in addition to the ongoing reconnaissance flights over guerrilla-held areas.

People’s Defense Forces (HPG) has reported in a written statement that the Turkish army carried out airstrikes on Medya Defense Zones in the night of August 25. HPG reported that Turkish jets bombarded the surroundings of Bolê village in Qandil region at between 22.00 - 22.30 on August 25, causing an explosion in power distribution unit and a wild fire in the area. HPG said Turkish jets also bombarded Ergenê, Kanî Kontra, Meyrokê, Kanî Mewaze and Piriz Hills in Gare area at between 22.00 - 23.00 on August 25.

Regarding the bombardments launched on guerrilla areas from Turkish military posts with mortars and howitzers, HPG gave the following information.

Bezelê military post at Zagros region border line targeted Hill Çarçel area at between 23.00 - 00.00 on August 25.

Eriş military post at Zap region border line targeted Xeregol area at between 11.00 - 11.30 on August 25.

Bilican military post targeted its surroundings at between 19.30-20.00 on August 25.

Zegê military post located between Dersim and its Pülümür district targeted foothills of Sultan Baba area at 20:30 on August 25.

RECONNAISSANCE FLIGHTS OVER GUERRILLA AREAS

HPG went on reporting the reconnaissance flights carried out by Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles over the guerrilla held areas. Accordingly, Turkish drones carried out flights over Qandil region at between 08:00-18:00 on August 25, and over Zap region at between 19:00 on August 25 and 01:00 on August 26.

On the other hand, an intense activity of Turkish jets took place over Zap, Metina, Zagros, Avashin, Xakurkê, Gare and Qandil regions of Medya Defense Zones at between 21:00-23:00 on August 25.

Turkish jets and unmanned aerial vehicles carried out flights over Geliyê Harciş and Geliyê Munzur areas of Dersim in the evening hours of August 25.

ACTIONS AND CLASHES IN NORTHERN KURDISTAN

Three soldiers were killed in an action conducted by YJA Star guerrillas against a group of 10 soldiers on a hill held by Bedevê guard post at the border to Zagros at 07:00 on August 25.

Guerrillas sabotaged and destroyed a base station in Dinarte village of Hakkari's Şemdinli district in the evening hours of August 25.

The roads between Hakkari-Çukurca, Yüksekova–Oremar, Yüksekova-Geliyê Doski, Mergêzerê–Şıtaza, Mergêzerê-Oremar guard post, Derya and Bezelê villages of Şemdinli remain under the control of guerrillas.

Guerrillas hit a Turkish troop that attempted to enter the Martyr Kendal area at the border to Heftanin between 15.00 - 15.30 and 19.00 – 19.30 on August 25. One sabotage action was conducted against the soldiers involved in the second attempt, but the number of casualties couldn't be verified.

Guerrillas carried out an action with heavy weapons against Sinek guard post between 14.00 – 17.00 on August 23.

Two yet-unidentified persons ambushed a unit of guerrillas on duty in Dolaşive hamlet in Mamreşo area at the border to Avashin at 10:00 on August 25. A short-lasting clash erupted between two sides in the area, during which guerrillas suffered no casualties, while the two persons fled towards Miros village.

Guerrillas targeted and hit a Sikorsky type helicopter moving from Şırnak to its Beytüşşebap district at noon on August 25, as a result of which the helicopter was damaged and forced to retreat.

Guerrillas carried out another action against the Malabadi guard post in Farqin (Silvan) district of Amed at 09:20 on August 25. The exact number of casualties left here couldn't be clarified.

The road between Farqin and Batman was blocked and ID checks were performed by guerrillas at 20:00 on August 25. A car was hit and damaged after not stopping despite a warning by guerrillas, while a loaded lorry was burnt down and destroyed. Turkish forces shelled the area with helicopters after the action.

In another action in Bingöl city center, guerrillas hit the Yenişehir police station at 23:40 on August 25. One armored vehicle in front of the post was hit by rockets and destroyed, which left four members of special operation teams dead.

Turkish military launched an operation around the villages of Mizan and Katman in Bingöl at 09:00 on August 26. As the operation continues, random fire is being opened from armored vehicles in the area.

Guerrillas closed the road between Bitlis and its Hizan district from 11:30 to 13:30 on August 25, after which they performed ID checks and informed the people about the current process. Guerrillas burnt down and destroyed a vehicle belonging to a state institution.

The roads between Bitlis-Hizan and Hizan-Tatvan remain under the control of guerrillas since August 12.

The road between Van's Çaldıran district and Ağrı's Bazid district was closed by guerrillas from 19:10 to 20:00 on August 25. Guerrillas performed ID checks and informed the people about the current process.

The roads between Erzincan-Dersim and Dersim-Ovacık remain under the control of guerrillas since August 17.

HPG added that guerrillas had no involvement in the explosion at Geliyê Ase area in Kozluk district of Batman last week.
