According to a statement released by People's Defense Forces (HPG) Press Office, at least four soldiers were killed in actions conducted by guerrillas in response to the ongoing attacks by the Turkish army. Casualties in many other actions by guerillas couldn't be verified.

TWO SOLDIERS KILLED IN ŞEMDİNLİ

Guerrillas conducted a sabotage action against a convoy of armored vehicles on its way from Şemdinli Brigade to Gare Regiment at 06:30 on August 24. Two soldiers were killed and four others were wounded as guerrillas destroyed an armored vehicle here.

TANK DAMAGED IN ORAMAR

Guerrillas hit an emplacement and tank of the Turkish army as they targeted a hill held by Oramar guard post in Hakkari's Yüksekova district at 14:00 on August 24. A tank of the Turkish army was damaged and a fire erupted in an emplacement as a result of the action by guerrillas who also targeted the soldiers near the tank. The number of casualties couldn't be verified though.

ACTION IN HEFTANIN

Guerrillas carried out another action against a tower of the Hill Şıvan guard post at the border to Heftanin area of Medya Defense Zones on August 23. In response to the guerrillas hitting a tower where five soldiers were present, Turkish army airdropped troops into the scene, while the casualties left by the action couldn't be clarified.

ŞKER GUARD POST HIT

HPG guerrillas also targeted and hit the Şker guard post at the border to Zap region at 14:00 on August 24, after which troops in the post launched a bombardment against Latê Kewa and Hill Kovi.

TWO SOLDIERS KILLED IN ÇATAK

Two soldiers were killed and two others were wounded as guerrillas conducted another action against Gırêsor guard post in Çatak district of Van at 10:00 on August 24.

THERMAL PLANT SABOTAGED IN BESPİN

In another sabotage action, guerrillas targeted the pipe transporting water to the thermal plant in Bespin town of Şırnak's Silopi district. The plant activities were suspended and Turkish army conducted a short-lasting operation in the area after the action by guerrillas.

HIGH-TENSION LINE TARGETED

Guerrillas targeted to high-tension lines in Sada village of Mardin's Ömerli district and Cıbılgırab village of Nusaybin district at 20:30 on August 24. Both lines were left out of use.

BASE STATION DESTROYED

Guerrillas sabotaged and destroyed a base station of two private GSM operators located between Kanî Spî and Zıvır villages of Elazığ's Karakoçan district in the evening of August 21.

PIPELINE IN SARIKAMIŞ BLOWN UP

In another sabotage action, guerrillas hit the natural gas pipeline passing by a highland in Sarıkamış district of Kars last night. Fire started by the action lasted two hours.

BRIDGE BETWEEN ÇALDIRAN AND BAZİD DESTROYED

Guerrillas sabotaged a bridge between Van's Çaldıran district and Ağrı's Bazid (Doğubayazıt) district early this morning. Four bands of the bridge were destroyed in the action by guerrillas whose control over the area continues.

The roads between Dersim-Erzincan, Dersim-Ovacık, Hakkari-Çukurca, Yüksekova-Oremar, Yüksekova-Geliye Doski, Mergezere-Şıtaza and Mergezere-Oramar guard post are also under the control of guerrillas.

TEDAŞ VEHICLE DESTROYED

Guerrillas stopped a vehicle belonging to TEDAŞ (Turkish Electricity Distribution Corporation) in Selim district of Kars at 13:00 on August 24, and destroyed the vehicle as well as the mobile phones of the seven workers of the corporation in the vehicle.

ACTIVITY OF TURKISH JETS IN PÜLÜMÜR

An activity of Turkish jets took place over Gelîyê Harçik area of Dersim's Pülümür district between 20:30 and 21:30 on August 24.
