At least 11 Turkish soldiers killed amidst violent clashes in Metina

Guerrillas are putting up resolute resistance against the Turkish invasion operation launched in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), ongoing since April 14.

The Press Office of People’s Defense Forces (HPG) released a statement providing information about the ongoing battle in Medya Defense Zones.

According to the statement, guerrillas continue inflicting heavy blows on the Turkish occupation army amids violent clashes in the Girê Hakkarî Resistance Area in Metina region.

HPG reported that the Turkish units attempting to advance towards Şehîd Akîf battle positions were struck by guerrillas from two sides on Sunday.

At least 11 soldiers were killed as a result of effective strikes by guerrillas and the bodies of two soldiers remain under guerrilla control, said the HPG statement, noting that heavy fighting in the area continues.
