HPG Press Office reported that actions by guerrillas as part of the Martyr Reşit Serdar Initiative continue in Hakkari-Çukurca area. Accordingly;
Turkish army launched an expansive operation in an attempt to enter an area of guerrillas in Hakkari-Çukurca area at 10:30 on August 11. A sabotage action by guerrillas targeted the armored vehicles involved in the attempt, leaving one of them damaged. Guerrillas also hit the Cobra type helicopters and left one damaged.
A rocket attack by guerrillas targeted the Turkish troops setting up a check point on Hakkari-Çukurca road between 14:00 – 16:00 on August 11, as a result of which soldiers retreated from the area.
An action with heavy weapons targeted a Sikorsky type helicopter heading to Bezelê guard post from Şemdinli at 09:00 on August 10. After the action which left the helicopter damaged, Turkish troops shelled the surroundings of Geman and Radyolog guard posts with random mortar and howitzer fire.
Guerrillas performed ID checks and informed the people about the current process after closing the road between Şemdinli and Bezelê guard post between 18:30 – 20:00 on August 11.
An action by guerrillas targeted the Polis Sarayı guard post in Tuşba district of Van at 21:30 on August 10, which left two police wounded.
Guerrillas who closed the road from Rındıkê to Davusa area between Hakkari and Çukurca at 10:00 on August 11 were attacked by a Cobra type helicopter that rained bullets on the area, as a result of which a guerrilla by the name of Andok Colemerg (Barış Tekçe) fell a martyr.
ACTION AGAINST GUARD POST IN NUSAYBIN
In an action from two sides, guerrillas targeted the Herbi guard post in Nusaybin district of Mardin at 20:30 on August 11. The first side of the action hit the soldiers at the main entrance gate of the post, while the other hit the towers inside the post. Three soldiers were killed and one thermal camera was destroyed in the action after which troops inside shelled the surrounding areas, and UAVs performed reconnaissance flights over the area for three uninterrupted hours.
While the casualties were taken from the scene in helicopters, one Cobra helicopter opened random fire in the surrounding areas of Mıştini village, which started a fire in the area.
After closing the road near the Ebubekir hamlet in Garısa village of Siirt's Pervari district at 12:00 on August 10, guerrillas burnt down three delivery cars transporting supplies to Siryan guard post. The road remains under the control of guerrillas since August 10.
After the closure by guerrillas of the road leading to Suhan guard post, Turkish troops bombed the Besta area with heavy weaponry, which started a fire still going on.
ASSASSINATION ACTION BY YJA STAR GUERRILLAS
In memory of the HPG guerrilla Harun Çektar who fell a martyr on July 30, YJA Star guerrillas carried out a series of assassination actions on the Şerefiye hill held by Turkish military near the Gabar area of Şırnak at 13:40 on August 11. Four soldiers were killed in the action after which Turkish air force shelled the scene and surrounding areas after delivering the casualties in helicopters.
YJA Star guerrillas closed the road leading to Muş and its Varto district between 22:00-23:30 on August 10. A clash erupted upon an intervention of Turkish troops with armored vehicles, which left three soldiers dead and one other wounded.
YJA Star guerrilla Kevser Ertürk, nom de guerre Ekin Van, who joined the guerrilla ranks from Van province in 2008, fell a martyr during the clash.
An action by YJA Star guerrillas targeted the Turkish soldiers at Haftarik guard post in Yayladere district of Bingöl at 10:30 on August 11. At least one soldier was verified killed, and one other wounded in the action which was followed by another one targeting the soldiers in emplacements. While the results here couldn't be ascertained, Turkish troops opened random fire on the area which started fires at several points.
HPG denied reports regarding the alleged death of three guerrillas near Elmalık village of Bingöl, and provided the following details on other military activities and actions by guerrillas;
One soldier was killed in an assassination action by YJA Star guerrillas targeting the Kutun guard post in Sason district of Batman at 15:00 on August 11.
Clash broke out between soldiers and guerrillas who conducted an action against a hill held by Turkish army near the Kavaktepe village located between Iğdır and Doğubayazıt district of Ağrı at 03:30 on August 11.
Turkish troops closed the road for a long time, and the Cobra type helicopters that came to the scene for intervention were also targeted by guerrillas with heavy weaponry, which forced them to retreat.
While clashes in this region lasted till 03:00 today, the casualties of the Turkish military couldn't be verified.
A guerrilla by the name of Sinan Özer, nom de guerre Özer Gever, from Hakkari, who suffered a severe injury in the fighting, couldn't survive despite all the efforts.
ASSASSINATION ACTION IN DERSİM
In an area between Dersim's Ovacık district and Kandolar village, guerrillas carried out an assassination action against an armored vehicle transporting eight members of special operation police teams that had been laying ambushes in Çalperi area of Ovacık at around 07:00 this morning. The armored vehicle was completely destroyed in the action after which five armored vehicles, a bomb squad and many ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
The action was conducted in reprisal for the guerrillas martyred in Turkish airstrikes and the Zergelê massacre which left eight civilians dead and dozens of others injured.
