80 bodies transported to Yüksekova as the Turkish army suffers fatal blows

Amidst the Turkish state’s ongoing invasion attacks in South Kurdistan, reports say that the bodies of 80 soldiers were taken to Yüksekova, from where they were transported to Ankara.

The Turkish military incursion, launched on April 17 in the areas of Zap, Avashin and Metina in the guerrilla-held Medya Defense Zones in southern Kurdistan (northern Iraq), continues with fierce clashes with guerrilla forces.

Reports say that a number of soldiers in the ranks of the Turkish army have been killed during the ongoing operation. According to information obtained from local sources, at least 80 bodies were taken to the State Hospital in Yüksekova district of Hakkari four days ago. Following the procedures here, the bodies were reportedly sent to Ankara from the Yüksekova Selahattin Eyyubi Airport.

Further reports suggest that the Turkish soldiers injured during the clashes are being taken to the field hospital set up in the Oramar region for treatment. Due to the high number of casualties, the injured soldiers are now referred to the state hospitals in Hakkari and its Çukurca district to be treated.
