HPG Media Center stated that guerrillas continue to respond effectively to Turkish army operations. Accordingly;

Guerrillas conducted an action on the gendarme barracks in Hakkari’s Çukurca district at 20:30 on August 3. One vehicle and one building was damaged during the action carried out with heavy weaponry.

YJA Star guerrillas targeted the Police Headquarters in Hakkari’s Yüksekova district with B7 rocket propellers at 13:00 on August 4, and the number of soldier casualties has not yet been clarified. Guerrillas also destroyed the bridge leading to Bezelê guard post in Hakkari’s Şemdinli district, and took control of the road here.

Another action by guerrillas targeted the base station for cell phones located in between the villages of Hemko and Aşkê in Şırnak’s Beytüşşebab district at 01:00 on August 2.

Guerrillas blocked the road between Mardin’s Nusaybin and Midyat districts at 18:30 on August, and informed the passing by civilians about the political process as well as destroying one tanker and one truck that belonged to the Turkish army. Guerrillas also destroyed a GSM operator in the same area at 18:00.

HPG guerrillas sabotaged the high-voltage transmission line in the Talatê and Cıbılgırabê regions of Mardin’s Nusaybin district at 21:00 on August 4, and destroyed the line as well as the nearby power transformer. Guerrillas also attacked the Armored Vehicle Battalion in Silopi district center on August 4, and killed two soldiers with B7 rocket propellers.

Guerrillas destroyed one armored vehicle and injured one soldier in the Gewaş district of Van at 14:30 on August 4. Also, Turkish soldiers accompanied by armored vehicles launched an operation in the Kanê Sarkê region of Van’s Bahçesaray district between 05:00 on August 4 and 03:00 on August 5.

‘RETALIATION FOR COMRADES HARUN AND YILMAZ’

Guerrillas laid ambushes against soldiers participating an operation between Gundê Mellê and Gurov areas located in between Şırnak and Hakkari at 07:15 on August 4.

In an action against a military convoy, guerrillas destroyed one vehicle, damaged another one, and killed at least eight soldiers during. Turkish army closed the nearby road to civilian vehicles in order to transport dead and injured soldiers, and the guerrillas dedicated their attack to their comrades Harun and Yılmaz who had fallen as martyrs on July 31.

Turkish Cobra helicopters bombarded the Çiyayê Filla region at 10:00 and quickly retreated without achieving any results.

‘6 SOLDIERS KILLED IN FARQİN’

Guerrillas sabotaged a military convoy as it was passing near the Kêdekli village of Amed’s Farqin (Silvan) district at 06:00 on August 3, and destroyed an armored vehicle while killing the six soldiers inside it. Turkish army launched an operation after the attack and HPG’s TV channel Gerîla TV would soon be releasing the video footage of this action.

Guerrillas have been controlling the road between Amed and Çewlik as well as the road between Genç and Servi since August 3. Guerrillas also attacked a military post in Muş’s Varto district, killed one sergeant, and wounded two specialist sergeants here.

Turkish soldiers accompanied by village guards have been laying ambushes near the village of Harray in Van’s Erciş district since August 2, and a counter group of four people have been provoking civilians in Kars since August 1.

Guerrillas carried out an assassination attack on the Sarıkamış Mountain Battalion located in Kars, and killed one soldier here.
