According to the statement, 13 soldiers were killed in the actions in Zap, Metîna and Xakurke regions, and a position and a camera surveillance system were destroyed. Meanwhile, the Turkish army carried out hundreds of artillery and airstrikes on Medya Defense Zones, and chemical weapons were again used at Kuro Jahro. The HPG statement reveals the following details:

Zap

On May 1, the Turkish occupation forces at Girê Rûbar were struck by the guerrillas with heavy weapons. A coordinated guerrilla action by two attack groups targeted the Turkish forces at Girê Şehîd Armanc in the Çiyareş resistance area. While six soldiers were killed, one of their positions was destroyed and two others were damaged.

On May 2, a soldier was shot dead by an HPG sniper in Kevirêkun in the Şikefta Birîndara resistance area, and two other targeted actions left two soldiers dead. The strategically important Kuro Jahro mountain remains fiercely contested. At the nearby Girê Şehîd Amargî, a soldier was shot dead on Monday. When the Turkish army tried to use explosives against the Kuro Jahro resistance area, the guerrillas used sabotage tactics and killed two soldiers. Against the guerrillas' defensive positions at Kuro Jahro, the occupying forces used chemical weapons three times on May 2.

Xakurke and Metîna

Guerrillas in the Xakurke and Metîna regions also took action against the Turkish occupation forces on May 2. YJA Star fighters hit a Turkish unit at Girê Şehîd Axîn in Xakurke with heavy weapons, killing one soldier. The Turkish army put the area under massive artillery fire following the action.

Another guerrilla action with heavy weapons took place at Girê Azad in Metîna, and a camera surveillance system was destroyed in the Koordine area.
