Thousands have joined the funeral of 12 civilians murdered by state forces in Cizre, Silopi and Şırnak where self-rule resistance against attacks endures for one month now.

DBP Assembly member Sêvê Demir, KJA member Fatma Uyar, Silopi People's Council co-chair Pakize Nayır, Çetin Taşar, Cebrail Mungan, Mehmet Tangut, Osman Telkin, Murat Egül, M. Şükrü Coşkun, Murat Ekinci, Ahmet Zırığ and Hakan Şengül were laid to rest in Naralo Cemetery in Şırnak province.

HDP deputies Leyla Birlik, Mahmut Toğrul, Müslüm Doğan and Mehmet Emin Adıyaman were also present at the funeral ceremony, while DTK co-chair Selma Irmak, DBP co-chair Emine Ayna, a group of HDP deputies and family of Sêvê Demir were stopped ner Aslan Başer Gendarmerie Outpost on Eruh road. As the mass was not allowed to enter Şırnak in line with a "strict order from Ankara", Demir's family was finally enabled access to Şırnak State Hospital from which bodies were retrieved and taken to the cemetery hours later.

Speaking at the funeral in the cemetery which began with Kurdish national anthem "Ey Reqîb", Sêvê Demir's mother Sakine Demir said; "Our children have been murdered because they didn't bow their head. Our children resisted for four parts of Kurdistan, and fell martyr for peace. They fought for their people. Our children have been killed but can their struggle ever be killed? Thosands of Sêvê, Pakize and Fatma are growing up. Martyrs are immortal, their struggle will endure and peace will never come unless Leader Apo's (Öcalan) is held."

Following the speeches, 12 victims of state terror were laid to rest.
