The second groups have taken over the alternating hunger strike launched by the PAJK and PKK prisoners in all prisons on November 27, demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan. The prisoners take turns on hunger strikes in groups for 5 days.

Celalettin Gürgen, Garip Nazlıer, Onur Kangal, Hamdusena Ada and Şahin Karahan, who are held hostage in the Diyarbakır D Type Closed Prison, announced to the public today that they as the second group have taken over the action that had started simultaneously in all prisons. It is not known who else started a hunger strike in other prisons, as the number of prisoners on hunger strike is estimated to be thousands.

The prisoners will pass the action on to the 3rd group after 5 days.
