Prisoners in Bandırma jail expose rights violations

Prisoner Seyfettin Yıkar is in Balıkesir Bandırma No 2 F Type Closed Jail. He called his family and told the about the rights violations they are subjected to.

He said that ill prisoners are not taken to the hospital and that unlawful searches are made in the wards.

Yıkar told his family: “We stay 20 people in a 10-person wards. There is no response to our ward change applications. Unlawful searches are made in the wards. They give a 6 months’ penalty to those who went on hunger strike. Newspapers are not given to us. They sell products at an exaggerated price."
